Monday, June 4, 2018
The Pattonville Board of Education was named a 2018 Outstanding Board of Education for Climate, Culture and Organizational Efficacy by the Missouri School Boards’ Association (MSBA). MSBA’s Outstanding Board awards encourage effective board practices and recognize outstanding board performance in six categories. Pattonville’s board was one of 20 boards out of more than 500 statewide to receive an outstanding board award. This is the fifth time since 2002 the board has earned state-level recognition.

Winners in the respective categories were selected by a committee of school board members from districts throughout the state. The awards were announced at the 2018 MSBA Leadership Summit on June 3. Since 2013, MSBA’s outstanding board awards program has recognized outstanding performance in the following categories: teaching, learning and assessment; human and organizational capital; climate, culture and organizational efficacy; school finance resources; physical and environmental resources; and governance, leadership and accountability. Previously, MSBA awarded one overall award to school boards for effective leadership. The climate, culture and organizational efficacy category honors boards that demonstrate excellence in the areas of positive school climate, culture of learning, welcome and safe environment, collaboration and organizational efficacy.

The Pattonville Board of Education won MSBA’s Outstanding Board of Education Award for Human and Organizational Capital in 2017; Teaching, Learning and Assessment in 2016; Governance, Leadership and Accountability in 2013; and the MSBA Outstanding Board of Education Award in 2002. Pattonville’s board was also a finalist for the award in 2011 and 2008. Members of Pattonville’s Board of Education are: Jeanne Schottmueller, president; Andrea Glenn, vice president; Dr. Brian Gray, secretary; Mary Kay Campbell, treasurer; Ruth Petrov, director; Mindy Ridings, director; and Dr. Amanda Lienau Purnell, director. Retired board member Ralph Stahlhut was also on the board during the previous school year.
